II'm running 64 bit Enterprise and haven't had any problems. The driver issue is that it will not let you install unsigned drivers, and if you are using hardware that requires unsigned drivers you should rethink the hardware. (A hint though, you can always self sign) Also, if you use or plan to use VMWare those drivers are unsigned which is a pain to get to work on vista 64. But the short version is, as long as you buy hardware from trusted vendors you shouldn't have a problem with Vista64.

Also, in regards to nok's comment about making sure you know what hardware goes with what. New Egg does a really good job of recommending hardware that goes together. Also, if you need any help, shoot me an IM, I'm more than happy to help, since building my computer recently, I've sort of kept up a bit better on the current bus speeds and such.

So hit me up if you want help, otherwise, I will never complain about a pre-built system.

Hey Tyler, did you type those specs out manually or is there a way to copy/paste the info from ibuypower?

Would it be excessive to run with 2x Geforce 8800 GT or will one do just fine?

I have one, the 728 MB one and have been having absolutely no problems with games. I'll be able to tell you about it and AoC this weekend. I'm forcing my brother to patch the game so I'm hoping my home PC will be ready for me when I get home on Friday.

I'm a little leery about SLI still because the 8800s are MONSTERS; they're very huge and require a lot of power. Soo...
The cake is a lie.

From what I understand, you want to wait on going SLI for now - from poking/asking around, SLI is awesome or downright crappy depending on the game. It's like Nvidia has to optimize the drivers from game to game.

That and the noise/power demands.

The only reason to SLI is if you want to up your resolution. Unless you do that, the simple performance boost really isn't worth the extra moolah.

Good point. I've currently been running all of my game's in my monitor's native resolution, which is 1050 X 1680...or is it 1680 X 1050?

Either case, it's widescreen and pretty nice. And that's on one 728 MB card.
The cake is a lie.
