Macros post change

Post by Xelissa » Wed Feb 02, 2011 11:22 am

Someone started a macro thread on the Rift forums, and I discovered that there may still be some macros that may be useful to folks. You cannot now, as Matt and Tyler have lamented, set up a macro to cast several skills in a row in sequence; HOWEVER, you CAN set up a macro that will PRIORITIZE skills. So, for example, you can set up a macro that attempts to first use a reactionary skill (e.g. block reactionary), then a melee cooldown skill, then a spammable melee skill, then a ranged cooldown skill, then a ranged spammable skill. This means that if you are in melee range, you will either execute your reactionary if it's available, if not then your cd melee skill, but if that's on cd, use your spammable melee skill. If you're too far for melee, it'll switch first to your cd ranged skill, then your spammable ranged skill.
#show Flamespear (ranged ability)
cast Furious Rage (reactive such as on block)
cast Face Slam (melee ability with a cooldown such as 6 seconds)
cast Reckless Strike (Melee Range Spamable)
cast Stonespear (ranged ability with cooldown)
cast Flamespear (ranged spamable)
Pretty cool, I thought. Full post here:

Wow, wildly helpful.

I'm going to definitely run:

#show Shadow Fire
petattack
cast Dark Malady
cast Savage Strike
cast Shadow Fire
cast Splinter Shot
cast Piercing Shot
cast Quick Shot

for builders and auto pet redirect, with finishers (melee and ranged) tied to the next macro:

#show Head Shot
petattack
cast Final Blow
cast Head Shot

I'm sure there are others that could be helpful. The bard thing will be harder due to practically no skills with a cooldown.

Marking targets by Macro courtesy of Telarapedia:

Code: Select all

target @mouseover
mark <number>
targetlasttarget
This macro will allow the current party leader or raid leader to put his mouse on a character and mark the character with the indicated mark number for the party or raid to see. The targetlasttarget will move the target back to the previous target as to not disrupt the current target.
This can be useful if a team/raid leader aligns the marking macros to 1-8 on the keyboard and to assign each mark number accordingly. Boooyaaaa quick and easy 1 key mouse over markings with no active target disruption.

If team members create macros that use @macro <number> modifier as the cast target, then the team leader can effectively change the target of the team members macros quickly with 1 key stroke.
