<-- armorsmithing and cooking, but I always half-ass with crafting, so someone doubling my stuff will be fine.

a note on jeweler:

I'm all for the idea that all of us (who would want to, of course) focus on one jeweler for the guild. Jewelers are VERY reliant on gems/jewels which are rare drops from crafting nodes. If a fair number of us are willing to give the majority of our jewels/gems over to one person, this would allow the jeweler to actually level up the crafting skill at a reasonable pace instead of being stuck. In return, the jeweler must be dedicated to leveling up their craft and supply people with jewelry as they are able per materials.

You up for the task, Jeff?

On another note, I will likely be giving all of my cooking ingredients split across those who want to pursue Chef. Since there's lots of ingredients for cooking, however, the supply of materials is much less important.

I'd like to try cooking, and either weapons or something.. I can fill in whatever is needed otherwise.

Yes, I do not mind crafting. I did a good job in Aion before I became way poor and also in DAoC. My only concern would be crafting level being higher than actual level. I am moving in the near future, so that should free up an hour and a half of my day.

I will gather, but I won't commit to crafting because I never seem to be able to commit fully. Unless we're missing something, I'll mostly just work on supplying stuff to crafters.
The cake is a lie.

You should do a little bit of crafting, Terry. The experience helps fill the gap in between levels.

And there are places with some gaps if you don't PVP/WVW for sure.

Do you level up gathering skills? I may drop artificer and just do jewelery making and gather everything.

Gathering skills don't level up but you will need higher level tools as you progress.

Gathering tools are consumables. You buy a stack of 100 sickles, picks, or axes (for herbs, ore, and wood accordingly), and each time you gather a resource, it consumes one of them. They are quite cheap, however. There are different tiers (e.g. copper pick vs. iron pick) and when you encounter a new tier of gathering materials, you will have to make sure to purchase the higher tier of tools.
